Joyful Journeys Community Enrichment
Tumbl Trak’s donation program recently gifted a Landing Mat for the end of a 30’ Tumbl Trak purchased by the Joyful Jagz, the cheer program run by the Joyful Journeys Community Enrichment Center. Our company’s CEO was fortunate to have the opportunity to make a personal visit to the facility just shortly thereafter. It was a real treat to see firsthand the work being done by this amazing program.

Joyful Journeys was started by Tasha VanMarter along with help from her sister and mother in 2010, and received their official 501c3 status in 2011 . They estimate they currently serve over 10,000 families in the Broomfield/ Boulder area! When they first opened, they filled the needs of mostly kids by providing after-school programming and community events for Halloween & Christmas. Fast forward 10 years and it’s amazing the full range of services available for the entire family.
- Joyful Athletics- cheer, dance, baseball, basketball, soccer, flag football, and karate
- Baby Basics- access to cribs, pack ‘n plays and other high cost necessities
- Journey to Personal & Family Success Classes- parenting classes, cooking classes, financial management, helping with the employment cycle.
- Laugh ‘n Learn- after school programming
- Joyful Gardens- community garden
- Joyful Fitt- free family friendly workouts every week
- Santa Shop
- Thrift Shop
- Young Leaders Board
How do they pay for all these services? You might be stunned to learn they have no formal corporate sponsorship. All overhead is funded by running weekly bingo with the rest of their funding coming from local donations and special programs they host.
Long Term Goals:
Tasha started Joyful Journeys with the idea of helping kids in her community. She quickly realized that in order for these kids to have long term success, their parents needed support too. This support includes help for basic necessities like food, toiletries, etc; as well as financial management education and employment seeking support. What started as more individualized efforts soon moved into offering a whole array of coordinated services to the entire community. Eventually, Tasha would like to move to a larger facility, offer transportation assistance and possibly expand her program nationally. It’s clear after our visit that Tasha and her network of volunteers, staff and community members pack a powerful punch by positively impacting the lives of thousands in their area.
The Joyful Jagz greeted Tumbl Trak with a big welcome reception and thank you note!
